Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India's largest software exporter, has been ranked fourth most valuable IT services brands in the world for the second time in a row.
According to a compilation by the UK-based brand valuation firm Brand Finance, which assesses the dollar value of the reputation, image and intellectual property of global companies in compiling the rankings, TCS follows IBM, HP and Accenture.
TCS' brand value has crossed $5.2 billion, with a 28.9 per cent increase over 2012. IBM with a $37.7 billion in brand value ranked first, followed by HP at $16.1 billion and Accenture at $9 billion.
TCS was the single largest contributor to the overall Tata brand and was ranked the world's 39th most valuable brand. The Tata Group had a combined brand valuation of $18.16 billion, the report added.
In 2013, TCS was ranked among the top four IT services brands. During this period, the company increased its brand valuation by $1 billion to $5 billion.
''The company's strong performance across brand-related activities such as client engagement, community development, sponsorships and employee satisfaction has earned TCS a place in the elite club of only three AA+ rated IT services brands,'' said David Haigh, founder of chief executive of Brand Finance, which assesses the dollar value of the reputation, image and intellectual property of the world's leading companies.
