Chennai: The city based computer peripherals manufacturer TVS Electronics has entered into a pact with rediff.com for online retailing of its products. The products that will be sold online on rediff.com include TVS ribbon cassettes, TVS ink bank and at a later stage, TVS service products.

TVS Electronics aims at targeting the internet savvy consumers and provide them the convenience of shopping for products online. Till date, the company has been consistently selling its products largely through its channel partners and national distributors such as Tech Pacific, Redington and Ingram Micro. However, keeping in mind the pace of the personal computer and Internet penetration, TVS Electronics has decided to establish its presence online as well.

According to S Narendran, head of marketing, TVS Electronics: "The company's online retailing site will go live this week, where we expect close to 100 orders per week. This will mark the beginning of a new era of marketing strategies for the company in 2004, where we will be moving to the next stage of development and growth in the company."

TVS Electronics is bullish and aggressive on the channel front and expects to increase its business from an existing Rs 228 crore to reach a revenue target of Rs 500 crore by 2006.
