Twitter will cut workforce next week: Reports
10 Oct 2015
Twitter will prune its workforce next week as freshly-returned chief Jack Dorsey seeks to build a leaner operation focused on winning users, tech news website Re/code reported yesterday.
The San Franciso-based company would lay off workers across the entire company. The job cuts would also involve engineers, accounting for around half of Twitter's approximately 4,200 employees, according to Re/code.
The job cuts would follow the reorganisation of engineering teams at the one-to-many messaging service.
Dorsey's return as the chief is expected to bring blockbuster growth that had eluded its grasp and disappointed investors.
This month Twitter said it is expanding its Amplify ad program Twitter to make it accessible to more publishers and advertisers. (See: Twitter announces expansion of Amplify ad program).
