Videocon launches 7-inch tablet, priced at Rs 4,799

Videocon Mobiles Phones, a Videocon Group company, has launched a 7-inch capacitive display tablet, priced at Rs 4,799.
The tablet - Videocon VT71 – runs on Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich), and comes shipped with a heavy duty 1.2 Ghz processor and 3200 mAh battery.
''The VT71 is aimed towards the emerging tablet market of the country which is on an unprecedented growth spiral as of today, and will become one of the lead generators of revenue in the telecommunications market, going forward,'' Khalid Zamir, Head Product Planning & Development, Videocon Mobile Phones said.
Videocon Mobile Phones aims to pick up a significant share in the tablet market, which expected to reach 182 million devices by the end of 2013 as forecasted by Gartner.
The VT71 has 800x480 screen resolution, 4GB ROM plus a 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Front VGA camera and an expandable memory upto 32 GB. The VT71 also has technology features like a 3.5mm audio jack, micro USB Support and 3G support via dongle.
It is preloaded with applications like 'Saavn' (music app), 'NexGtv' (TV channels), 'Facebook', 'Nimbuzz' (chat accounts) and 'Play Store' to access, download and use applications. It also has e-mail and Web browser support.
