Volvo Auto India Pvt Ltd today launched its S60 luxury sedan, with prices starting at Rs27 lakh, as it looks to expand in the rapidly growing Indian market for premium automobiles.
Sales are slated to start this month and the car would be available in three variants.
The company already sells the S80 sedan and the XC90 and XC60 sport-utility vehicle models in the country. The S60 luxury sedan has been launched just three months after the launch of the XC60. According to experts the S60 is Volvo's newest and arguably boldest design in a long while, and will also be the cheapest car on offer in India by far.
The car comes packed with safety, technology and loads of features.
Globally, the S60 is being offered in two chassis options - a dynamic chassis and comfort chassis. According to experts, the dynamic chassis is likely to be offered as an option for India with the comfort chassis as standard.
The difference between the two is in the damper settings and the front and rear subframes. The comfort chassis boasts of a softer setup.
Also available as standard on the S60 is the Four-c chassis set up with the option of selecting between comfort and sport setups. This allows altering the gearbox, throttle and steering setups on the go. It also includes Advanced Stability Control and Cornering Traction Control as standard.
