Volvo revises India pricing of all its cars
02 Apr 2016
Volvo Auto India has hiked the prices of some of its cars by 3 per cent (ex-showroom), prompted by a recent proposal of taxation norms across various categories in Budget 2016.
The company also reduced prices of some of its cars such as the V40 Cross Country D3 Inscription (by Rs304,000) S60 Kinetic (Rs151,000) and S60 Momentum (Rs24,000).
''This year's Budget has forced us to relook at the pricing in order to provide the best in class products to our customers. At the same time, we are pleased to be able to offer significant price reduction on S60 Kinetic, S60 Momentum and V40 Cross Country D3 Inscription variants, without compromising on the features and specification levels,'' said Tom von Bonsdorff, Managing Director at Volvo Auto India.
''Efficiencies of scale have enabled us reduce cost and hence pass on the price discount to our customers,'' he added.
The revised prices will be effective from 1 April 2016, the company said in a statement.
Swedish luxury car company Volvo had set up its presence in India in 2007 and now sells six luxury models in the country.
Volvo Cars currently markets products through its dealerships in South Delhi, West Delhi, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam and Kolkata, expanding in 2016 to Indore, Lucknow and Jaipur.
