Indian Army chief visits Laos

New Delhi: Looking to strengthen military ties and strike new strategic relationships with nations bordering China, either on land or sea, Indian Army chief Gen VK Singh on Wednesday embarked on a three-day visit to Laos.
During his meetings with top military and political leadership there, Singh will discuss ways of enhancing defence cooperation between the two countries.
He will meet Laos' chief of general staff, brigadier general Souvene Leualg Bounmy, vice president Bounnhang Vorachith, and deputy prime minister and defence minister lieutenant general Douangchay Phichith during his visit.
