Crorepati IAS couple faces heat from Enforcement Directorate

The Enforcement Directorate today served a notice on tainted IAS couple from Madhya Pradesh, Tinu and Arvind Joshi, for foreign exchange violations.
Both have been accused of acquiring property in the name of an NRI relative.
In a raid at their residence, foreign currency disproportionate to their income was recovered in addition to Rs3 crore in cash.
A number of crucial documents pertaining to unaccounted investments were also seized.
Both officers belong to the 1979 batch and have held important posts with Tinu having served as deputy secretary in the PMO from 1988 till 1990 while Arvind was joint secretary in the defence ministry during the Kargil war.
According to the Income Tax department, it has uncovered wealth valued at a whopping Rs360 crore from the suspended couple.
