MPs continue to create ruckus in parliament
06 Aug 2013
The second day of the monsoon session of parliament again virtually went down the drain today, with opposition MPs stalling both houses over various issues, including the killing of five Indian soldiers by the Pakistan side in the Poonch sector and the burning issues raised by carving out Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.
In the Rajya Sabha as well as the Lok Sabha, MPs preferred to create a ruckus by waving banners and shouting slogans, negating repeated efforts by the government to make statements on the issues, forcing several adjournments.
''The MPs have once again indulged themselves in a holiday paid for by the 'aam aadmi' – apart from a little slogan-shouting and 'dhamaal', which is a favourite pastime for most Indians," said a caustic Delhi journalist.
