Tabling of CAG reports on coal block allocation, DIAL and power projects deferred
16 Aug 2012
The CAG reports on coal block allocation, Delhi International Airport and ultra mega power projects were not tabled in parliament today after both the Houses were adjourned for the day.
Parliament was adjourned to condole the death of Rajya Sabha member Vilasrao Deshmukh who passed away in Chennai on Tuesday, due to which the finance ministry deferred the tabling of the reports.
Quoting unnamed sources, PTI said a new date was yet to be finalised.
All the ministries had kept themselves armed with rebuttals to be given after the tabling of the final CAG reports.
According to the sources, the coal ministry had spoken to parliament secretariat and the ministry of information and broadcasting to hold a media briefing after the reports were out.
Ministers generally do not hold press conferences when parliament session is under way and CAG had also scheduled a media interaction today, which was deferred.
