Lloyds most complained about among financial brands in UK

UK-based Lloyds TSB saw the most complaints among financial brands in the first six months of the year.
Between January and June 2011, the Financial Ombudsman Service dealt with 19,569 new complaints about the bank, while Barclays was next in the list with 16,864 complaints.
Companies of the Lloyds Banking Group attracted twice as many complaints as any other financial services provider and according to the ombudsman eight Lloyds' firms attracted around 35,000 complaints, while the group's total stood at 37,696.
Among the top complained about companies Lloyds took three spots in a list of the 10 most complained about companies, while the Bank of Scotland was the third most complained about company with 13,021, and Lloyds' car loans subsidiary- Black Horse –– 10th with 3,721 complaints.
Barclays group attracted a total of 19,050 complaints, with its loans firm Firstplus Financial recording 1,407. Royal Bank of Scotland was the group with the third highest number of complaints – 13,391 with two banking brands RBS and NatWest accounting for the bulk of these.
However credit card company MBNA took fourth place among 10 worst financial firms with a haul of 12,500 complaints over the period. Customer complaints about its credit company, loans.co.uk, stood at 778 complaints reaching the ombudsman, giving MBNA a total of 13,278.
