J&J may have to pay up to Rs1.23 cr for defective hip implant

As per the formula approved by the union health ministry, Johnson & Johnson will have to pay compensation varying from Rs1,23 crore for those young patients (20 years and less) with over 50 per cent deformity to Rs30 lakh for the elderly (65 years and over) with up to 30 per cent deformity
