`Incredible India' campaign wins awards at Latvia, New York film festivals

The tourism ministry's campaign film `Incredible India' has been honoured with two more awards - one at the Riga Film Festival in Latvia and another at the New York Film Festival.
Recently, at the Film Festival in Riga, Latvia, this month, the film won an award for the `Best Adventure Film' while it won the `Gold Award' at the New York Film Festival, a government release said.
The ministry of tourism of the Government of India annually launches International media campaigns in the print, electronic and web media in important source markets overseas, to promote "Incredible India" as a tourist destination.
The `Incredible India' film has been produced for the ministry of tourism by the `Experience India Society' and produced by Nirvana Films, Bangalore.
The Experience India Society, a pioneer public-private partnership in tourism, has, since its inception, been supporting the efforts of the ministry of tourism to realise India's full potential as a tourism destination. The society has been producing high quality films for the Incredible India campaigns and has also supported the ministry of tourism in organising mega promotional events in Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, Moscow and St Petersburg.

The international television commercial / promotional film released by the ministry of tourism in its electronic campaigns in the year 2008 has won the ministry several accolades the world over. The film, which has been aired on all major international television channels, including CNN, BBC, National Geographic, Discovery etc, has won awards at various international film festivals, culminating in the Austrian Comite International Des Festivals du Film Touristique 2009 Grand Prix Award at Vienna in November 2009.
The commercial had won awards in Germany (Berlin), Poland, Romania, France, Portugal, Czech Republic and Croatia before winning the Grand Prix Award at Vienna.
