Amplicon launches M6000 phone for hearing challenged

Mobile phone maker Amplicom has introduced a new device, the M6000, which is specially designed to for use by people with hearing problems. The device sounds extra loud ringtones at 100dB and carries a price tag of £120.
The company claims, the Amplicon M6000 ring tone can sound as loud as vuvuzela blowing near the user's head. The phone is said to be ideal for those who are hard of hearing and older people. The screen displays text in extra large type to be helpful to the elderly reader and those with vision impairment.
The M6000 has features a 2-inch color display. It supports triband GSM networks (900/1800/1900 Mhz) and comes with a 2.5-inch headset connector in addition. It offers 150 minutes of talktime and upto 230 hours of standby time.
The phone's keypad is marked simply in large font as compared to any other phone. It also has a SOS button at the back that allows users to make calls to a pre-assigned number in case of any emergency.
