CII manufacturing summit commences at Mumbai

Rajesh Shah chairman, manufacturing council, CII, expressed his confidence in Indian manufacturing capabilities to succeed globally through focus on price performance ratios and global outsourcing. Joining him Shailesh Sheth, chairman of CII western region's 'manufacturing competitiveness task force', said that the concept of price as a market driver was now equally valid for industry as it was for FMCG or consumer durables.
The conclave was attended by eminent CEOs who included, among others, Adi Godrej, chairman Godrej group, Ajay Piramal, chairman, Nicholas Piramal India Ltd, Kishore Chaukar, MD, Tata Industries, Rangoo Salgame, president, Cisco Systems, Ravi Uppal, vice chairman and MD, ABB Ltd India and Bhaskar Bhat, MD, Titan Industries.
The three-day seminar will focus on supply chain management, capital cost, logistics and packaging, and quality standards focusing on the Indian manufacturing sector. Those who will address the summit include Dr V Krishnamurthy, chairman, National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council, Santosh Mohan Dev, union ministry for heavy industries and public enterprises, Bala Balachandran, professor of accounting, information and management, Kellogg School of Management and Jamshyd Godrej, CMD, Godrej and Boyce Manufacturing Co Ltd.
