British supermarket chain offers cheapest SIM-only deal

British supermarket chain Tesco is offering what is believed to be the cheapest SIM-only deal on a mobile phone.
The company is charging £6 a month for unlimited texts and 100 minutes of calls, under the deal, which is available online and over the phone.
If Tesco's deal can be matched by other telcos it hardly matters as users are only signed up to it for a month.
Subscribers who collect them will also get Tesco Clubcard points with their monthly bill.
According to Lance Batchelor from Tesco Mobile and Tesco Telecoms, the deal is being offered to a younger market or any text addict who does not want to pay out a large amount every month but still wants to user Tesco's mobile to the extent they want.
According to research conducted by Tesco Mobile, 16- to 24-year-olds, who make up the most prolific set of texters, spend the highest amounts for mobile contracts with about a third spending upward of £30 a month on their mobile bills.
