Hyderabad:
Bose Corporation the $1.7-billion global audio technology
major, has recently expanded its footprint in South India
with the opening of the 'The Bose Store.'
Ratish Pandey, general manager, Bose Corporation India,
announcing the launch of the outlet, said the store would
showcase the entire range of Bose home products such as
Bose Lifestyle systems, wave systems, speakers, headphones
and multimedia.
The
company has also set up a full-fledged service centre
to support the retail operations in Hyderabad.
Bose
Corporation began its operations in India from New Delhi
in 1998, and has a network of outlets in Mumbai, Gurgaon,
Bangalore, Chennai and now Hyderabad. To support these
outlets, a centralised customer support centre has also
been established.
The company has been attracted to India for its growing
number of call centers where it sees great potential for
its sound masking solutions.
The company's sound masking solutions effectively cover
external sounds that ultimately reach outside a room as
garbled voices and call center executives can concentrate
only on the sounds emerging from the head-phone said Ratish
Pandey, general manager of Bose Corporation India.
The company masks sounds by generating a uniform background
sound through speakers in the false ceiling, which overrides
the existing sound. This also helps in providing speech
privacy at the centres.
Deloitte is the company's only client in Hyderabad, while
in other parts of the country the company's clients include
GE, HSBC Reliance Infocomm among others.
Pandey
says the cost of such sound masking solutions depends
on the area, though on an average, the cost ranges from
$1.5 to $2 ($1= Rs46) per square feet area, of the place
where sound masking is being provided.
Bose Corporation's retail outlet is spread out over a
1,000 square feet area and showcases the entire range
of Bose home products like the Bose lifestyle systems,
wave systems, speaker systems, headphones and multimedia
offerings. The price ranges between Rs7,900 and Rs2,29,000.
Bose Corporation, founded in 1964 by Dr Amar G. Bose, is a $1.6-billion, privately-owned company with 7,000 employees, 18 subsidiaries, 8 manufacturing facilities.
