Israel Air Force to acquire Lizard laser-guided bombs from Elbit Systems

The Israel Air Force (IAF) has selected Elbit Systems Ltd to supply the IAF with its Lizard laser-guided bombs. The contract value was not disclosed, but is expected to be several million dollars. The initial supply of the systems has already begun.
Lizard is a sophisticated, new-generation laser-guided bomb used for air-to-surface attacks on diverse targets. It has pinpoint accuracy, substantially reducing collateral damage. The current laser designator is designed for warheads of various sizes.
Elbit Systems has already supplied the Lizard laser-guided bomb kit to several international customers, including NATO-member countries. A performance-proven weapon, it has already bagged repeat orders from customers.
