Tune Talk, Malaysia's low-cost mobile phone operator, today said its subscriber base has surpassed one million in the first 10 months of starting operations.
Tune Talk created a differentiated niche in the marketplace by offering low-cost services through supplementing the traditional subscriber plans with advertising.
"In this saturated market, it's a positive sign that there is still room to differentiate our brand and product to bring something of real value to our subscribers and we are very excited that there are so many who are willing to give us a chance to provide them with our mobile service," Jason Lo, CEO, Tune Talk, said.
"As our technology provider, XIUS-bcgi has been an integral part in enabling Tune Talk to be successful in the Malaysian mobile marketplace."
XIUS-bcgi, the telecom division of the transnational technology company Megasoft, offers revenue-generating solutions to mobile operators worldwide.
GV Kumar, CEO, XIUS-bcgi, said, "It has been a privilege to be part of the Tune Talk success. Reaching this milestone validates the promise and potential of the Tune Talk approach to the market - focus on innovation, delivery of recognised value and customer satisfaction."
Tune Talk, launched in April 2009, targets the under-served segments of the market with low calling rates and incentives.
