Another foreign brand is set to enter India, this time the UK's Rs7,300-crore clothing chain New Look. As plans stand, new Look may enter Indian partnership with the Dubai-based Landmark group, which runs Lifestyle stores. CNBC-TV18 reports.
The two groups opened the first New Look store in September last year in Dubai. New look retails clothing, lingerie and shoes, and is known for its competitive pricing.
Experts say that trhe retail chain has strong supply-chain management. It's known to respond to the latest trends in fashion by designing and retailing clothes in as little as two weeks. If it's priced competitively it will compete with apparel retailers like Globus and Westside.
A response to an email questionnaire sent to the Landmark group's CEO is awaited. Currently the chain has over 550 stores in the UK and operations in Belgium and France as well. So far, India has been an apparel-sourcing base for New Look.
