World Phone ties up with Rediff for wider distribution of its VoIP calling cards

To enable the people in smaller towns to place calls to
America @ Rs. 1.60 per minute and many other countries
at reasonable rates, World Phone Internet Services (WPISPL)
one of the significant players in internet telephony
solutions, has announced a strategic tie-up with India's
leading portal, Rediff.com, for making its extremely popular
VoIP international calling cards, World Phone 'premium',
available to end users at the doorstep at no extra cost.
World Phone is also in talks with the major distributors
and retail chains in different states to expand its physical
reach to end users even in the far flung areas of the
country.
According
to Aditya Ahluwalia, chairman, World Phone, "We are
ramping up our distribution network around the country
but at the same time we don't want to make our potential
customers in the smaller towns wait till we identify the
right distribution partner in their cities. Our association
with Rediff will enable us to reach out to such customers
and provide them with quality international calling experience,"
he added.
As per the agreement, Rediff will make World Phone's popular
VoIP calling card , World Phone 'premium', available to
its visitors on its site. Available in denominations of
Rs250, Rs500 and Rs1,000, a user can order by logging
on to the site www.rediff.com and the card would be delivered
directly at home without any extra delivery charges. Buyers
also have the option to pay cash-on-delivery or through
credit card. They do not have to pay any extra delivery
charges and all the handling charges will be borne by
World Phone.
Ahluwalia
added, "World Phone is committed to making its superior
quality international calling solutions available in every
nook and corner of the country. With this tie up we will
definitely broaden our reach and be able to cater to our
customers in every big or small town," he added.
Launched in the capital early this month, World Phone
premium cards will enable users to place international
calls to more than 200 countries including US, UK, France,
Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany, etc, with tariffs
starting from Rs1.60 per minute.
Currently,
the cards are available in major metros and mini metro
cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Shimla, Hyderabad,
Chennai, Bangalore, Ludhiana, Baroda, Pune, Surat etc.
World Phone sells these cards through its distributors
in these cities.
World Phone's key clients include HCL, NIIT, Rediff.com, Jet Airways, ICICI Bank, Ebix Software, Solutions Inc.
