Dell, Intel, Bloomberg in pact to develop platform for women entrepreneurs

Dell, Intel and Bloomberg are planning to jointly sponsor The Dell Women's Entrepreneur Network, an initiative of getting the entrepreneurs together on one platform.
This event, due to be announced on 20 June at the Shanghai World Expo, is aimed at helping connect women in the business world to create and a peer group around the world with innovative women entrepreneurs and establish a network to exchange ideas on how IT helps drive successful businesses.
Shanghai World Expo is being held on both banks of the Huangpu River in the Shanghai for five months from 1 May to 31 October 2010.
The theme of the exposition is "Better City – Better Life," which denotes Shanghai's new status in the 21st century as the "next great world city."
More than 190 countries and more than 50 international organisations are participating in the Shanghai World Expo, the largest ever and the expo is expected to attract more than 70–100 million visitors, which would make it the most visited expo in history.
"In 2009, the proportion of female entrepreneurs in China increased to 27 per cent, while the male proportion decreased," said Amit Midha, Dell president, Greater China and South Asia.
Dhalla says "Following the financial crisis, businesses can significantly benefit from sharing their experiences and hearing from colleagues in similar situations. By hosting this event at the World Expo, we are able to provide a forum where female business owners can connect with peers from around the world."
