DaimlerChrysler has said that it would pull out of Mitsubishi
Motors, leaving the Japanese firm's future in doubt. The
decision has come at an extraordinary meeting of DaimlerChrysler's
supervisory and management boards on Thursday.

SMART
deploys MDP to support SMS explosion
Singapore:
Empower Interactive, a supplier of mobile data services
infrastructure products for mobile operators, has been
selected by SMART to provide infrastructure support for
the operator's exceptionally high levels of messaging
traffic.
SMART
is deploying Empower Interactive's carrier-grade Message
Delivery Platform (MDP), offering industry-leading performance
to process an additional 2,000 messages per second with
the initial deployment.
SMART's 12.9 million subscribers are the world's most
active users of SMS with an average of around 10 SMS sent
per day per subscriber.
Implementation of Empower Interactive's MDP enables SMART
to support continuously high levels of messaging throughput
in a consistent and reliable manner. The MDP is designed
to dramatically reduce the operator's cost per message
and increase network efficiency, by enabling both application
and peer-to-peer messaging traffic to be routed intelligently
through the network.
