Ajit Thakur to head GEC at Balaji

Multi Screen Media (formerly Set India) has appointed Ajit Thakur, the chief executive of Balaji Telefilms' movie business, to take charge of its flagship Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC).

The post has been vacant ever since Albert Almeida quit the company earlier in the year. Thakur will report to N P Singh, chief operating officer, Multi Screen Media.

Thakur was with Balaji Motion Pictures, where he was working as chief executive officer. Prior to this, he was with UTV Pictures as chief operating officer.
