Bharti Group's Hemant Sachdev to head Microsoft India's consumer and online international

Hemant Sachdev will be joint managing director at Microsoft India to head its recently created division, consumer and online international (COI). COI was formed by merging the consumer facing businesses of Microsoft. It includes consumer software, Windows Mobile, MSN and the online services and search businesses.

Sachdev was earlier group director, brand and corporate communication at Bharti Group, and was responsible for building the Airtel brand.

He has more than 20 years experience in managing operations, retail and strategic marketing. He has a number of recognitions to his credit - Marketing Professional of the Year (2002), India's Achievers and Leadership Award for Excellence (2004), Best Marketing Strategy of the Year - Retail (2004), and India's Top Marketing Director Award (2006).
