Booz & Company appoints Ashish Sharma as telecom practice head in India

New Delhi: Global management consulting firm Booz & Company has appointed Ashish Sharma as principal to lead its telecom practice in India, based in Delhi.
Sharma brings has over ten years of consulting and line management experience in the telecom and services industries. At Booz & Company, his focus will include strategy development, organisation transformation and performance improvement work for companies operating in the telecom sector. Ashish will be based out of Booz & Company's New Delhi office.
Prior to joining Booz & Co., Sharma was with the Singapore office of McKinsey and Company. He has engaged with operators, equipment manufacturers, private equity players, and regulators across US, Southeast Asia, India, Africa, Middle East and Europe.
His past projects also include developing the India entry strategy for a global telecoms major, developing the national regulation plan for a major Mideast country to bring it in line with its WTO commitments, leading the distribution and go-to-market strategy for a multinational electronics major, developing the national broadband plan for a southeast Asian country, amongst other assignments.
Sharma has also worked extensively with mobile telecom companies across Africa on products, pricing and distribution.
