Deepak S Parekh, Gurcharan Das and Rama Bijapurkar nominated to CCI advisory panel

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has re-constituted the eminent persons advisory group (EPAG) nominating HDFC chairman Deepak S Parekh, author columnist Gurcharan Das, and author consultant Rama Bijapurkar also as its members.
The EPAG was constituted earlier this year with the objective to serve as a group of 'wise persons' to give broad inputs and advice on larger issues impacting markets and competition, good international practices, improved advocacy etc to the commission.
The group has been constituted in a manner that CCI could benefit from the advice of eminent persons representing a wide arena from the corporate sector, academics, NGOs, regulatory authorities, Reserve Bank of India, CAG, and banking and social activists.
Others in the reconstituted EPAG include former CAG V N Kaul, former deputy governor of RBI Rakesh Mohan, Biocon CMD Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, former chairman of CERC and former director general of National council of Applied Economic Research S L Rao, Banglaore-based NGO activist Rohini Nilekani, former director of IIM Ahmedabad Bakul H Dholakia and former director of NLSIU-Bangalore N L Mitra.
The reconstituted EPAG held its first meeting on 23 July 2012.
