Gurcharan Das joins advisory board of The Parthenon Group

Delhi: Global strategic advisory boutique The Parthenon Group has announced the appointment of Gurcharan Das, author, management thinker and former CEO of Procter & Gamble India and later Managing Director, Procter & Gamble Worldwide (Strategic Planning), to its strategic advisory board in India.
With experience spread over a 30-year career across six countries, in advising companies on corporate strategy, Das will to help advance Parthenon Group's business strategy and support the executive team identify market opportunities as it continues to capitalise on the growing market demand for the firm's business in Asia.
Das, who graduated with honors from Harvard University and later attended Harvard Business School (AMP), where he is featured in three case studies, is on a number of corporate boards, and is a regular speaker to management teams of the world's largest corporations.
He has been on the juries of the McKinsey Award for the best Harvard Business Review article and the $500,000-Milton Friedman award.
In 1995, he took early retirement to become a full time writer and hjas since then authored The Difficulty of Being Good: On the subtle art of dharma which interrogates the epic, Mahabharata. His international bestseller, India Unbound, a narrative account of India from Independence till date, nd has been published in many languages and filmed by BBC. His other works include novel, A Fine Family, a book of essays, The Elephant Paradigm, and anthology, Three English Plays
He is currently on many boards and is a regular speaker to the top managements of the world's largest corporations and is a regular columnist for six Indian newspapers in English, Hindi, Telugu and Marathi, and he writes periodic pieces for The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Foreign Affairs, and Newsweek.
