Hari Shankar Singhania passes away

Hari Shankar Singhania, leading industrialist and president of diversified manufacturing group, JK Organisation, passed away at his residence in Delhi late last night.
Singhania, 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep. His family members said he had not been in good health for the past few months and was not attending office for the last two months.
''Hari Shankar Singhania passed away late on Friday night... The cremation will take place today at 3.30 pm at Nigambodh Ghat, New Delhi,'' a group spokesperson said.
Born in Kanpur on 20 June 1933, Singhania joined the JK Group in 1951 after completing a bachelor's degree in science.
He had set up a number of pioneering ventures in India and was actively involved with the JK Organisation.
The diversified JK Organisation is engaged in a range of manufacturing activities, including automotive tyres and tubes, paper and board, cement, oil seals, power transmission equipment, woollen textiles, readymade suits and apparels, food and dairy products, hybrid seeds, steel, engineering files and cosmetics.
