Jaideep Bose becomes editorial director, Bennett Coleman and Company

Jaideep Bose, popularly known in the Times' editorial circles as Jojo, has been elevated to the newly-created position of the editorial director of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd, the parent of The Times of India group of publications.
Bose took over as executive editor of the Times of India (TOI) in 2004, the youngest ever editor to do so in the publication's 170-year-old history. Bose began his career at 24 with The Telegraph in Kolkata, then moved to the TOI Group, holding various positions as resident editor of The Economic Times in Kolkata, before holding the combined editorship of the Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata editions, and then Executive Editor.
As executive editor of TOI, Jaideep was responsible for the creation and launch of the Mumbai Mirror, a morning city tabloid.
He is on the editorial board of Times NOW, TOI's 24-hour news channel, and is on the board of several TOI Group companies. It was also under his editorship that the successful TOI Group civil society campaigns India Poised, Lead India and now, the Teach India initiatives were launched.
Bose holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
