Karl Gomes, NCD, Rediffusion Y&R quits

Karl Gomes, national creative director, digital, Rediffusion Y&R has resigned after being with them for just a year.
He was responsible for offering and carrying out digital media campaigns at the agency. Gomes had moved to Rediffusion Y&R after spending more than a year at Arc Worldwide, the integrated marketing arm of Leo Burnett, in the capacity of executive creative director, digital.
Gomes has more than 13 years of experience in the industry, out of which he has spent nearly 10 years in the digital arena.
He was design head at Digital Branding Solutions, a Mudra Group venture. He later helped Mudra to start Tribal DDB India, the digital arm of Mudra DDB, and moved up to become national creative director at the agency.
His next assignment was at Arc Worldwide, which he joined in 2007, winning a bronze Cyber Lion at Cannes the following year for his campaign on Luxor Highlighters.
While working for Tribal DDB, Gomes' work related to a banner ad campaign for TimesJobs.com won him several awards, including a gold and a bronze at the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) Awards at Goafest 2006 and a silver at the Asia Pacific Adfest 2006 in Thailand.
A website, created for LIC, and an online campaign for MTV India on World AIDS Day won him several Webby awards.
In 2008, he won a bronze Cyber Lion at Cannes. He was also a jury member at the Cannes International Advertising Awards that year. Also, he served as a jury member for the Cyber Lotus at Adfest 2009.
