KKR India ropes in Goldman Sachs' Heramb Hajarnavis

KKR India Advisors has announced the appointment of Heramb Hajarnavis, managing director, India, Goldman Sachs, as director.
Hajarnavis will be based in Mumbai and work alongside Sanjay Nayar, member of KKR and CEO of KKR India, to expand KKR's private equity business in India.
Hajarnavis started his career at Goldman Sachs, where he served in different leadership positions across various locations. At the Indian subsidiary of Goldman Sachs, he was responsible for identifying investment opportunities and driving the strategic growth of the principal investment area business.
He has worked with NASDAQ-listed private equity-led portfolio company Centennial Communications in a senior management position between his stints at Goldman Sachs.
KKR is a New York City-based global private equity firm that sponsors and manages investment funds, focusing primarily on leveraged buyouts of mature businesses. It holds $54.4-billion in assets under management as of June 30, 2010.
