Mahindra Satyam appoints Vineet Nayyar chairman, M Damodaran, G S Kaji as directors

Hyderabad: Mahindra Satyam, the new brand identity of scam tainted IT services provider Satyam Computer Services Ltd, today appointed Vineet Nayyar as its new chairman of the board and former SEBI chairman M Damodaran, and former world bank senior executive Gautam S Kaji have been appointed as additional directors, with immediate effect.
With the new appointments the size of the board has been expanded to eight directors comprising of four independent directors that include two nominee directors of the central government, two non-executive and two whole-time directors.
Nayyar will also continue to operate as a whole-time director.
In a career spanning over 40 years, Nayyar has worked with the government of India, international multilateral agencies and in the public and private sectors. An IAS officer, Nayyar held a series of senior positions in the government, after which he worked with the World Bank for over 10 years in a series of senior assignments.
He was the founding chairman and managing director of the state owned Gas Authority of India and has served as managing director, HCL Corporation Ltd, and as the vice chairman, HCL Technologies Ltd.
He was also a co-founder and CEO, HCL Perot Systems.
