Dhirubhai, as he is popularly known to his five million shareholders, with his extraordinary guts and gumption over last two decades laid the foundation of Reliance Industries, the largest private sector group in India. . Dhirubhais made history in annals of Mumbai stock market, when way back in 1977, he expanded the investor base of the Indian stock markets, to encompass even remote villages of Gujarat by taking RIL public.
Ever since his rapport with the company's huge investor base across the country is considered legendary. "Our dreams have to be bigger, our ambitions higher, our commitment deeper and our efforts greater," he said while accepting Wharton Dean's medal last year.
True to Dhirubhais vision, the Reliance group has just completed the Rs 25,000-crore integrated Jamnagar refinery complex in Gujarat, the world's largest greenfield project with a capacity to refine 27 million tons of crude per annum. The group has also made significant forays into the telecom and other new economy sectors in recent years.

Valluri Rao bags Intel Fellowship
New York: Indian-American Mr. Valluri Rao
has been named among this years eight Intel Fellows, considered to be companys
highest technical position that recognises outstanding research contributions within Intel
Corporation.
Born in Hyderabad, Valluri Rao, 46, is among only 36 Intel Fellows appointed to date, who
are selected through a stringent company-wide, four month-long selection process from
several thousand Intel employees worldwide.
This prestigious designation recognizes their ability to exercise technical leadership and
role modeling and mentoring for less senior technical contributors.
