Yoga Guru Ramdev was on Friday admitted to the intensive care unit in Dehradun hospital after his health deteriorated on the seventh day of fast. He was administered glucose and doctors said his condition was "stable".
Ramdev was shifted from the fast venue at Haridwar to the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust (HIHT) hospital at Jolly Grant in Dehradun in the day.
"He is fully conscious, talking and has been administered saline drip to counter dehydration and minor liver ailment. There has been no forced feeding," medical superintendent SL Jethani said.
The civil administration shifted Ramdev from Patanjali Yogpeeth to the hospital after he became semi-conscious around 3.00 p.m.
Acharya Balkrishna, associate of Ramdev, has also been admitted to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar reached the hospital and was with Ramdev for about half-an-hour.
