Reliance Communications recruits two top industry executives to drive its global business

Continuing with its strategy of roping in talent pool from across the world, the Anil Ambani controlled-Reliance Communications has recruited two top industry executives to drive its global business.
The telecom firm has appointed former Verizon top executive Rory Cole as president (carrier and internet services). Cole will report to Punit Garg, president and CEO, Reliance Globalcom, the holding company for global operations.
Prior to joining Reliance Communications, Cole was with Verizon Business in various positions including senior vice president, international sales (wholesale and carrier Channels), Chief Operating Officer (international) and Chief Financial Officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) subsidiaries.
Besides Verizon, Cole has worked at senior level positions in organisations like Telesystem International Wireless (UK), Videotron Group of companies, Ernst & Young, Cox Cable Communication and Warner Cable.
RCom has also hired V.S. Gopi Gopinath as president and chief operating officer – Enterprise, for Reliance Globalcom's Global enterprise business unit.
Gopinath was earlier chairman and chief executive officer of AT&T India and vice president Asia at AT&T Corp. He had earlier served in top level positions with AT&T Global Network Services India Pvt. Ltd, Equant, GlobalOne, Sprint, GTE, Henningson and Durham & Richardson.
