S K Chakrabarti appointed deputy managing director at Axis Bank

Axis Bank today announced the elevation of S K Chakrabarti from executive director to deputy managing director.
"Chakrabarti's elevation to the board is in recognition of his contribution to the bank's growth and the all-round leadership," said Shikha Sharma, managing director and CEO, Axis Bank. "As deputy managing director, he will be actively involved in the bank's overall strategy and will have specific responsibilities for the retail banking, SME and agri business of the bank."
Chakrabarti had joined Axis Bank in 1994 as a deputy general manager and has handled varied assignments in corporate and retail businesses. He has been instrumental in building the SME and agri business franchisees.
Axis Bank is the third largest private sector bank in India, and offers services encompassing large and mid-corporate banking, SME, agri-business, retail and international banking.
