Sanjay Aggarwal takes over as chief executive at SpiceJet

Indian low-cost carrier, SpiceJet has appointed Sanjay Aggarwal as its chief executive officer with immediate effect. The announcement on Monday fills up a spot that has been lying vacant for the last three months.

Aggarwal takes over the position from Siddhanth Sharma, who quit the airline 12 July to join rival carrier IndiGo Airlines.

So far Aggarwal has been SpiceJet's chief operating officer. Earlier he has worked with the US Airways, which is the fifth largest airline in the United States.
