SC asks Raju why bail should not be cancelled
01 Oct 2010
Responding to a Central Bureau of Investigation plea, the Supreme Court today issued a notice to Satyam Computer Services founder B Ramalinga Raju asking why his bail should not be cancelled in the over Rs7000-crore accounting scam case.
A bench comprising Justices Dalbeer Bhandari and Deepak Sharma has issued a notice to Raju on the appeal challenging the bail granted by the Andhra Pradesh High Court in August.
Raju had surrendered to the police in January 2009, by which time he had been revealed as the centrifugal force in what is considered India's largest corporate scam. The CBI believes that Raju may try to tamper with evidence against him and influence witnesses.
