Seiko Epson appoints Toshiyuki Kasai as president of India operations

Toshiyuki KasaiJapanese digital imaging and printing giant Epson today said it had appointed Toshiyuki Kasai to the newly created position of president at Epson India, based at Bangalore.

Prior to joining Epson India, Kasai was the head of business management for the imaging and information division at Seiko Epson Japan.

The new position is in keeping with Epson's reengineering of operations that brings India out of the Epson Singapore regional hub. With India being a priority market, Epson India will be reporting directly to Seiko Epson Japan.

This is Kasai's third posting out of Japan. He has spent 7 years at Epson Portland in the US in the late '80s and early '90s and subsequently as senior vice president of business infrastructure at Epson Europe from 2004 to 2007.

An industrial engineer from Waseda University, Kasai a 30-year Seiko Epson group veteran where he has worked in various functions including production control, purchase, information systems, corporate planning, business planning, profit management and various project activities.
