Sunil Lulla joins Times group as MD, TV business

An official announcement from the Times group says that Sunil Lulla, the ex CEO of Times Global Broadcasting has joined back the company as managing director and CEO, TV business. He will be in charge of all four channels of the Times group - Times NOW, ET NOW and ZOOM Entertainment Network.
Lulla who moves in from Real Global Broadcasting started his career with Forbes, Forbes Campbell and Co., a Tata Group company, in 1984 as a management trainee. His next stint was at HTA (now JWT).
For about seven years, he handled various accounts at HTA, the largest one being Unilever. He has worked with channels such as MTV and Sony Entertainment Television.
Lulla has taken charge from Chintamani Rao. Rao has been named the vice-chairman and will now play a mentoring and strategic role for all the television businesses of Bennett, Coleman & Company Limited as vice-chairman. Besides, Rao will also on development of new Private Treaties Partners.
An out-and-out adman, Rao has been has been associated with agencies such as McCann Worldgroup, Lintas and O&M. His stint with broadcasting started four years ago with India TV. He has been with the Times Group since February 2008.
Rao spent close to two and half years at India TV. Rao is an economics graduate and an MBA from XLRI, Jamsedhpur.
