Venkatesh Valluri appointed chairman, Ingersoll Rand board in India

Mumbai: Ingersoll-Rand (India) Limited president Venkatesh Valluri, has been appointed as chairman of the board of directors, effective 25 March 2010, succeeding Daljit L Mirchandani who resigned as director and relinquished office as chairman of the board.
Valluri, who also serves on the board of United Way India, was appointed president of Ingersoll Rand in India in May 2009.
Before joining Ingersoll Rand, Valluri was associated with the global measurement technology leader, Agilent Technologies, as its president and country manager for over five years. Prior to Agilent he held various leadership roles at GE (General Electric) in India and abroad.
Valluri holds a bachelor's in technology in electronics and a MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
