Vinod Rai appointed new comptroller and auditor-general of India

Vinod Rai has been appointed as the comptroller and auditor-general of India with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.
Rai belongs to Indian Administrative Service of Kerala Cadre-72 Batch and is presently working as secretary, department of financial services, ministry of finance, government of India.
Rai will take over from V N Kaul. He holds master's degree in economics from the university of Delhi and master's in public administration from Harvard University.
