Walter Vieira wins Indy’s lifetime achievement award

Marketing consultant, speaker and author Walter Vieira, Asia's first elected chairman of the 42-country International Council of Management Consultants in 1997, has been awarded the lifetime achievement award for excellence in marketing communications, advertising and branding.
Vieira, a senior marketing consultant, pioneered marketing consultancy in India when he started his consulting firm Marketing Advisory Services in 1975.
Vieira consults internationally with a focus on strategic marketing, cross-cultural issues and change management. He is also a business writer having published over 700 articles in the business and general press, including regular columns, has authored 11 books, and is a visiting professor at US business schools like Kellogg, Cornell and Drexel.
In 2005 Vieira was also awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005 by the Institute of Management Consultants of India.
''It is nice to know that one's work does not go unnoticed," said Viera accepting the award. "I am greatly humbled by this and would like to thank all those that have helped me throughout the years to get to this point.''
He has also been the founder chairman of the Asia Pacific Conference of Management Consultants.
