A Lokayukta police team went to the former BJP chief minister's residence in the afternoon along with his arrest warrant, but he was not at home.
About two hours later, Yeddyurappa surrendered before the court.
His lawyer had earlier said that the 63-year-old former chief minister would approach the high court for bail and exemption from arrest.
Judge N K Sudhindra Rao of the Lokayukta court issued an arrest warrant against Yeddyurappa and S N Krishnaiah Shetty, who was a minister in his cabinet, on Saturday morning after rejecting their bail plea. The case relates to the alleged irregularities indulged in by the former chief minister in the denotification of government land.
Yeddyurappa, who was forced to quit in July after a severe indictment by the Lokayukta in the illegal mining case, was not present in court. He had furnished a medical certificate claiming he was suffering from back pain.
