Subu D Subramanian takes over as CEO at Defiance Tech

Chennai: Engineering services provider, Defiance Tech, has announced plans to expand beyond design and engineering into manufacturing and enterprise solutions. The company also announced the appointment of Subu D Subramanian as chief executive officer.
"The other dimension of growth we are seeking is to serve customers beyond automotive to other industry verticals including aerospace and defence," said Dr V Sumantran, chairman, Defiance Tech and executive vice chairman, Hinduja Automotive Ltd.
"For the group, it has been our vision to expand our capabilities in product development and manufacturing, to become a global engineering and technology services provider. Through Defiance, we have established ourselves as a significant global player in automotive testing and engineering service s. We now intend to expand the scope of operations of Defiance beyond engineering to technology-enabled manufacturing and enterprise solutions," Dr Sumantran said.
The company is now understood to be scouting for fresh talent and considering a new facility in Bangalore. Defiance is also setting up a testing facility at Ashok Leyland's technical centre near Chennai and has already begun shifting some of the equipment from its Detroit facility.
Subu D Subramanian was earlier senior vice president at Satyam Computer Services Ltd., heading the manufacturing and automotive vertical. Subu incubated and built the market leading SAP practice at Satyam.
Prior to Satyam, Subu held several senior leadership positions in TCS, including regional business head, USA and head of the company's Hyderabad operations.
