Reliance Big Entertainment appoints Sanjeev Lamba as CEO

Reliance Big Entertainment has got on board Sanjeev Lamba as chief executive officer for its motion pictures business, Reliance Big Pictures. Earlier, Lamba was chief operating officer, Zee Motion Pictures.

He will be based in Mumbai and will report to Amit Khanna, chairperson, Reliance Big Entertainment.

Lamba has 25 years of work experience, having dabbled in advertising, consumer products licensing, video games and movies. He has spent more than 15 years handling senior international positions, including his stint at Walt Disney International as vice-president, international, Disney Interactive.

At Disney Interactive, he was responsible for the development and management of the company's business in territories outside North America, including Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Japan. He has also spent time with Weinstein Company, an independent American film studio in New York.

Lamba has also spent 10 years at Ogilvy and Mather, Delhi and Mumbai, handling accounts such as Johnson & Johnson, Philips and American Express.

In an official communiqué, Khanna expressed optimism that with years of experience in the advertising and media space, Lamba will help build the entity into a pre-eminent film studio in India and overseas.
