HCL Infosystems appoints Harsh Chitale as CEO

HCL Infosystems Ltd today announced the appointment of Harsh Chitale as chief executive officer. He replaces Ajai Chowdhry, who will continue to be the chairman of the IT company.
"As we continue to invest in India and emerging markets, Chitale will focus on enhancing our presence, strengthening our system integration and services offering and capacity building," said Ajai Chowdhry, chairman, HCL Infosystems.
Chitale will be based in Noida and joins from Honeywell Process Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Honeywell International Inc.
At Honeywell, he led the business for the North and South America region and was responsible for strategy and global marketing prior to that.
Before moving to the US in 2006, Chitale was the MD and CEO of Honeywell Automation India Ltd. (HAIL), erstwhile TATA Honeywell Ltd, where he was responsible for building the system integration and lifecycle services business in India.
He had served as vice chairman of the HAIL board for a period of two years.
An IIT Delhi graduate, Chitale is a recipient of director's gold medal from IIT Delhi.
