Accor appoints Lokesh Sabharwal as vice president, development

Hotel operator Accor has appointed Lokesh Sabharwal as the vice president – development for India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Sabharwal will be based in New Delhi.
He joins Accor from InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) where he was the director, development, South West Asia.
At IHG, Sabharwal was responsible for originating, evaluating, negotiating and managing key management contracts in India besides supporting the strategy team for the development and execution of the South West Asia growth strategy.
Sabharwal has over 13 years of experience in hotel development, consulting and operations. Besides IHG, he has worked with HVS International where he was responsible for directing valuations and feasibility studies - economic planning, market demand studies and financial analysis.
He has also worked with the Global Hyatt Corporation in India and Australia.
Sabharwal has a hotel management degree from the International College of Hotel Management, Adelaide, Australia an a Diplome Culinaire d'Hoteliere from Le Cordon Bleu. He also holds a certificate in real estate, development and hotel investment from Cornell-Nanyang, Singapore.
