Wipro appoints Shaji Farooq, global head, advanced technologies

Wipro Technologies today said it had appointed Shaji Farooq as senior vice president of the company's newly created advanced technologies service line, which will comprise social media, mobility, analytics-as-a-service and cloud.
Farooq will also be responsible for the transformation of Wipro's go-to-market approach by bringing together Wipro's sales hunting, sales enablement and strategic marketing functions together.
Prior to joining Wipro, haji Farooq was head of Infosys' consulting and systems integration across the financial services industry.
He has 24 years of professional experience and his areas of expertise include business and IT strategy, business process redesign, and value management
Farooq holds an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University, a Ph.D in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a bachelor's degree in engineering from IIT, Bombay.
